You really did ot discribe the incident, but a simple assault has the maximum penalty of up to 6 mths in jail. It all depends on your prior criminal record and the facts of the case to determine what will most likely happen. I can be reached at 201/646/9600

Well, a lot depends on the circumstances.

Where did this happen? Where are you going to Court (and when)? Have you been arrested before? I have many more questions, but we can get to those after you write back with the basics....

If you have no previous criminal record and there are no serious injuries you should receive merely a find if you are found not guilty. On the other hand,

some deal might be made to reduce it to a petty disorderly offense.
