in the state of NJ what period of time( days, months, years) does the police or an individual have to file charges after an incident occurs. an incident of vandalizism involving juveniles

For a serious charge that would be heard in Superior Court you have at least five years to file a
complaint. For a petty offense you have a year from the date of the occurrence of the offense.
