If a co-defentant has written a statement taking sole blame on himself why would the prosecutor continue to proceed with carges against the other defendant especially if the party didnt mean to get her involved?

Re: Statement
I actually have a case in my office with almost the same situation. In that case, the other person has yet to plea out and I'm guessing that is the case with you. If the other person actually pleas out then the second person should be off the hook. You can only take the full blame when you plea out. Any letters or whatever are subject to attack by a defense attorney.
I suggest you get an attorney, even though I would assume you would have one by now. However, if you did, you wouldn't be on this site unless you can't trust that attorney.
My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 if you'd like to discuss your case.
