Re: Statue of limitation on theft
You are talking about is the amount of time that a complaint for theft may be filed after the occurrence of the theft. For a disorderly persons version of theft the period is one year from the date of occurrence. For the crime of theft, an indictable offense, the time period is five years from the date of occurrence.
After a complaint is filed there is no limitation on prosecuting same where the defendant has avoided prosecution by failing or refusing to appear in court as required.
Call me if you like.

Do you think you will be charged? If so, I suggest you speak to an attorney ASAP to discuss your rights.
