Statute Of Limitations on drug charge
Does a drug charge [ marijuana, less than 50 grams] have a statute of limitation for prosecution. It has been more than 7 years.

A criminal complaint must be filed within one year
of the offense if it is a disorderly persons offense drug charge. If it is a criminal drug charge the criminal complaint must be filed within five years of the date of the offense.

If you were charge seven years ago for possessing less than fifty grams of marihuana and then you failed to go to court, you are not protected by the statute of limitations, but the State may have considerable problems proving the case. You should call me at 8002737933 to discuss your case.
