Statute of limitations on stolen check
My business partner stole a personal check from my house and made it out to our business.He forged my signature.The check was for 5000.If I press charges on him the business will fall through.So I haven't.How long do I have to press charges?He has promised to pay me back.

Under New Jersey statute 2C:1-6, a prosecution for a crime must be commenced withing five years after it is committed.
