Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
stolen car
1 week ago my husband abandoned me and my children and took my car to NH, the insurance is due and i do not want to have to renew it,the police will not help me because they say that even if the car is registered in my name my husband can take it for as long as he wants to wherever he wants since we are legally married and still i am responsible for the vehicle what can i do?

You need a family law atty. I do not do family law, but practically, if you know where he is, contact him and tell him if he doesn't want to be illegal, he can pay the insurance. You want to protect your car, and his ability to pay you support. If he has an uninsured accident, you may have difficulty getting your support.
Be practical here, not emotional, and get a family law atty ASAP!
