Theft by Deception in NJ
If someone has been accused of a third degree offense of Theft by Deception, how long does the State have to charge the person for the crime. Does the Statue of limitations apply?

5 years like most other crimes.
If you have been accused of anything, you should have an attorney ASAP.

What does "accused" mean? If it means you were served with a criminal complaint the statute of limitation is irrelevant. I think you are asking about your right to a speedy trial.
