Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
theft of services misdeormenor felony?
My son left a resturant without paying and got charged with theft of services..he spent some time in atlantic county jail and payments were supposed to be made but he didnt keep up and got arrested again. he skipped out and his background check comes up as a misdermenor felony...is that possible? how can he get a job to pay a $500.00 fine but cant find a job with this on his background check? Thats all he owes on this fine.

That doesn't make any sense. A crime is either a misdemeanor or a felony, not both.
I would have to see his rap sheet before I can give you any other advice.
