Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
Transferring charges from one state to another
I was charged with a crime in
another state and am awaiting my
preliminary hearing. I am currenty 7
months pregnant. By the time i have
to go to court, i will be 9 months
pregnant.
Can i ask the courts to either
postpone my hearing until after i
deliver, or ask to have the case
moved here to NJ? If so what is the
likelyhood of them granting it?

Re: Transferring charges from one state to another
You really should have an attorney that could help you with all this. You cannot move a crime from one state to another.
