Tresspassing

Several 15 year olds slept on a public building's roof(school). Was there any unlawful act committed?

No illegal substances were be present.

This would be a violation of New Jersey Statute 2C:18-3a., Unlawful Entry of Structures. This is a fourth degree crime, which carries a maximum punishmnt of 18 months in jail plus fines and a criminal record if you are convicted. However, if you are a juvenile (15 years old) in staed of having a criminal record you would have a juvenile record. I don't have my 2C book in front of me, but other than trespassing, I don't see any. However, since nothing was really broken or anything, I don't see this rising to the level of criminal charges. I think they most they have to worry about are school suspensions and other issues like that.
