Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Trial transcripts new jersey

My brother was tried for murder in new jersey. He was found guilty of aggrevated manslaughter a lesser included offence. (( Which i thought a lesser included could not be charged to the jury in murder 1st degree cases in n.j.)) Anyway it has been 1 year since he has been sentenced, and it is under appeal. He is still waiting for the transcripts of the trial. How long does it take to get the transcripts??? the trial was 1 month long. He will not be appointed a P.D. till the transcripts are done.

Re: Trial transcripts new jersey

How long was the trial and how long ago was the transcript ORDERED? If the trial was recorded by machine, as opposed to a certified shorthand reporter, the recording is probably be

transcribed by only one person. All

certified shorthand reporters used computerized shorthand machines which plug into a computer which makes it

merely a computer function. Sound recordins require someone to listen and type.
