Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

turning yourself in for no bail warrant

I am on probation for a drug charge possession of controlled substance. I failed to have the formal drug evaluation and failed to appear in court. However 1 day after I failed to appear in court I admitted myself into a drug rehab program. I am out now and want to know how to turn myself in without going to jail. I am in an outpt program and have a job now.

You should hire a lawyer to TRY and arrange for you to get a court date without having to be arrested and bailed out again. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

You need to hire an attorney to arrange for your surrender and you need to document your participation in the drug rehab program and your current employment.

One is better off contacting the probation officer to avoid a VOP(violation of probation or ejection from PTI or CD). I agree with my fellow guru's assessment to get documentation to the court and/or probation real fast. A lawyer is your best avenue in helping and quickly acting to advocate leniency and avoid further alienation of the authorities. Your circumstances need to be better known to assess your rights.

I would call an attorney to arrange all of this. While it won't be easy, it is possible to work this out in your favor.
