Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

unfair imprisionment

Mom has tons of problems. Uncle is greedy. Mom is being charged with theft. Mom took care of grandparents her whole life and was poa part of this time. Grandma had macular degeneration was legally blind and couldn't sign checks. Has family to back this up. Charged with cashing checks written to herself or cash-at bank she worked at. Checks with money going to uncle too. SOME checks have memos with what spent on. Paid for all food, vacation for mom and uncle and them, diapers,ect..In cash only,no reciepts. We've tracked money with deposit in her account so far so good. Grandfather balanced these checking accounts himself. She had full permission from grandma but no written aggreement signed. Grandfather convinced she stole (after grandma died) and now uncle handed over all check copies to prosector of NJ. Grandfather is now dead too. She faces 7 years and pay back money. Lawyer says take plea- do jail and pay. Doesn't answer our questions and we need HELP! Also charged with

VISA charges with permission for articles for them most of which was returned. What direction should we go? Must plea soon and admit guilt although she isn't. Do we take ISP option of 6 mos and repay and chance getting longer time? What defense? HELP!!
