Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

unlawful entry

8 girls ( ages 18) rented a summer house at the shore which turned out to be one of several on a list of ''nuisance properties'' Everytime a complaint is called in, our house usually gets visited. One evening when 3 of us were asleep and 1 was watching tv there was a knock on the door. The girl who was awake got scared ran upstairs and woke the rest of us up. We didn't answer the door. Several minutes later we a heard a noise downstairs and voices. We looked out the window and saw a patrol car in the street. The police had broken through the front window and entered the house. We locked ourselves in the bedrooms. And did not come out until they left. We learned later that the complaint was called on the house next door.

Do we have any recourse?

Re: unlawful entry

Nothing big that I see. Did you see them break the window? It wasn't your window? Did you have to pay for it? I don't see too many lawyers that would be ready to take this case. However, its just my opinion and others may disagree.
