How long can you be held in jail before seeing a judge?

You have to see a first appearance judge within 24 hours of your arrest. But, you probably don't mean that, as they usually just pass your case for the judge in charge of your case. There is no set time after first appearance, where you must see a judge on a VOP. Usually, it's 2-3 weeks.

Until your lawyer acts to get you to court. Waiting weeks would not be unusual. If you are talking months that is another matter.
