Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

warrant

I have a failure to appear warrant . I was unable to attend court because of medical problems . . I have cancer and had sceduled chemo the same day as court . . . I called the court to have the warrant lifted and they told me I had to come in and speek to the judge during court . I would like to do it by phone for obvious resons and they wont allow it . I represent myself and would like to know if I have legal write to speak to him.

By going into court you show that you are not some guy who is trying to avoid going to court. Cases are supposed to be handled with the defendant in court, normally. Go in a tell the judge.
