Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Hello, Several weeks ago I called the police about an individual - alleging that she took my car keys (we pulled over off the road), and bit my hand. The police came, took my statement, and arrested her. However, I asked the police several times to drop the charges and not to arrest her (as the officers exaggerated the charges). Unfortunately, that was not an option in NJ. Now, we both have to appear in court, and I intend to tell the prosecutor that I didn't make these charges (the police did), and that I am not pursuing any case. However, I would like to know how to get her case expunged. This is a big deal for her, since she is applying for a passport citizenship now. Please advise.
