Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Seven years ago I had a drug problem. I ran into 3 arrests. One was brought down to a "conditional discharge", another was brought down to "misbehaving in the city of newark" and the last one was charged as "wandering". I do not know what to say when applying for jobs now. Are these mistderminers? Are they obvious drug charges? Does 7 years time out these offences? What actually shows up on a criminal background check?

It seems that you have a drug charge arrest which resulted in a dismissal as part of a conditional discharge and that you were charged with two municipal ordinance violations. You should consider applying for an expungement of your record, although you must be careful from now own to avoid getting into more trouble.

Unfortunately, all three arrests show up on a criminal history check. The original charges will clearly show what you were arrested for. However, you are eligible to have theses events expunged from your record. Call me to discuss. 201.807.0990.
