Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New Jersey

180 days statue of limitations in NJ

Is the 180 day statue of limitation inclusive or exclusive of legal holidays? My case for racial discrimination was turned down because it was filed on the 182nd day. Even though there was July 4th and Labor Day within. Also does it matter if I was on vacation during the time the letter arrived advicing me to appear at the Attorney General's Office?

You have probably blown your state statute of limitations. You may be able to file with the EEOC. Call our offices or e-mail me directly and I'll tell you more about your options.

Vacations generally don't matter and holidays generally don't matter unless they occur on the last day.

Good luck to you.
