Legal Question in Discrimination Law in New Jersey

Civil Service Rules

Can a person be skip according to civil service rules NJ because of a bad interview. I am #1 on our sgt promotional list. Their is a female that is #2. A statement made by the new Sheriff was that she wanted to promote women and minorities in that order. I have more experience 16 years been in charge of the facility CERT team for 14 years I have no major suspensions in my file. Also I am a instructor in many different areas. It has been done in the past minorities being skip or not being considered for any positions in this facility
