What to do when cops come to my house about a noise complaint and I am having a

If I am having a kegger party, and we are all ages 18-20 and drinking, and the cops come to the house because of a noise complaint, what are my rights, and what should I do so that we get in the least amount of trouble? I heard the cops cannot come in without a warrant, is this true? Also, would it be wise to tell the truth and admit that we were drinking if they asked, or lie about it, even though it would probably be obvious that we were drinking?

The police do have a right ot enter your house if there is some indication of criminal activity, such as underage drinking, going on. If they are there legitimately due to a noise complaint, and then see suspicious activity, they can enter. If you are serving alcohol to minors, that is a criminal offense. If you lie to the police, it is called hindering apprehension and that is also against the law. There are many problems that you face under the scenario you described.
