Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

Can I get out of drunk driving with an accident?

I am 17 years old and live in Brick, NJ. A few nights ago I drove drunk and got into a car accident. No other cars were involved just mine, but I was brought to the hosptial and my blood was taken. We are not sure what my alcohol level is yet, but it was not good. Is there anyway to get out of the DUI and not lose my license for a long time?

It will be difficult but it depends on the discovery that the prosecutor provides. An expert may need to be retained so he can testify as to blood levels versus breath levels. It depends on the readings. If you wish to discuss the matter further, call me in toms river at 732-286-2170.

There is always a chance to beat any case based on the evidence. It is true that if you are convicted of DWI, especially underage and involving a car accident, you would lose your license for some period of time. However, I would have to review all the evidence first to see if there is any way to wind this and keep you from such serious consequences. Please have your mom or dad call me at 1-908-272-0111 to discuss your case with me. Tell them that there is no charge for just calling and discussing your case to see if I can help you. Thanks.

Sincerely yours, Ronald Aronds, Esq.

Re: Can I get out of drunk driving with an accident?

Your situation is extremely serious. The best way you can attempt to minimize the potential legal penalties you may face, is to consult with and retain an attorney immediately. Your attorney can review the case for procedural errors, for example, and if there are significant procedural errors, may be able to get your case dismissed or the penalties reduced. Your attorney will also be able to negotiate with the prosecutor.
