Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey
Dui
If someone had a DWI over 23 years ago, paid all fine and took all the classes required. What do they need to do to get a license? The state this happened in was NJ and he now lives in FL. He went to the FL DMV and they said he could not get a License. So what would be the best way to go to get a license?

Re: Dui
He needs to contact NJ DMV and pay a restoration fee. Also, there may be surcharges due. Once they are all paid, his driving privileges would be restored and he could get a Florida license.
Re: Dui
It might be that the only problem is that he has not paid the fee for restoring his license. Once it is paid , so long as there are no old traffic tickets pending in New Jersey, New Jersey will lift the suspension of his privilege to drive in New Jersey. To obtain a New Jersey driving license will require that he be retested.

As the other attorneys said, just call up DMV now known and MVC. Nothing you need an attorney for unless there is some other serious problem.
