Re: how to handle situation
Unfortunately, there is no easy answer on how to handle the situation and, based on the limited facts entered, no way to predict the matter's outcome. The charges faced are serious, however, and can have serious consequences so you must proceed cautiously.
While you can handle this situation yourself, you may wish to consider an attorney to represent him. An attorney will be able to consider the evidence and provide you with ideas on how to best resolve the situation whether that be through a trial or arrangement with the prosecutor.
Since the charges do have serious consequences, if financially eligible, he may qualify for a public defender. Otherwise, you are free to hire a private attorney.
I offer free consultations and would be happy to discuss the case with you and/or him and help you decide whether or not he needs legal representation. If the charges arise in South or Central New Jersey, (I'm in Cherry Hill) please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
