Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

License

Is there any option once your license is revoked in NJ? Another state for a work license, any way around it? Canada? Mexico? Puerto Rico?

Re: License

Whether another country would license you is impossible for me to know and I doubt another lawyer on this board would know. With regard to another State, I suggest you contact their DMV. But all of those options are only good if you live in that other state or country. As long as your DL is suspended in NJ, nothing you do can change that abset getting your NJ DL restored.

I suggest you see an attorney to examine your convictions that resulted in the suspension. I handle a lot of post-conviction motions with regard to DWIs and you'd be amazed how many of them were wrong, although they are getting better lately.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case and I'll let you know what your options are.

Re: License

Vermont has no reciprocity for driving license suspensions. You might check Massachusetts and Montana. Of course with a driving license issued in a nonreciprocity state is good only in 48 other states and not in New Jersey if your license is suspended in New Jersey.

You also could move to Russia or Sweden in order to drive but you still could not drive in New Jersey if you are suspended from driving there.

The big problem is that it is very difficult to drive on the East Coast going south from Vermont because the best road goes through New Jersey.

So far as your dwi case is concerned you can call me if you like.
