Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

My son was arrest for DWI

My 20 year old son was arrested for DWI with a BAC of .09. He was read his rights and fully cooperated with officers. he did not spend anytime in jail and was released to his father and I. This is his first offense with liquor, however he has 2 speeding tickets in the past. We have called an ttorney to represent him in court. My question is, will he loose his license and how long will this stay on his record? How will it affect our insurance and what kind of fine can we expect?

Re: My son was arrest for DWI

He is facing seven months to one year loss of driving license if the .09 stands. A plea bargain wherein he pleads guilty to a .08 would mean a 90 day loss of license as a first offender.

You might explore your son defending against the charge. He needs a thorough consultation with an experienced dui attorney and perhaps some consultation with an expert on the machine used to test your son.

I agree with Mr. Moore. Get an attorney that knows how to defend these cases. If you are already have an attorney, why are you asking this question? That really worries me. Your attorney should be able to answer your questions. I'm also worried that you are assuming he is going to lose the case.

Before you go any further, I suggest you get an attorney that has a plan to defend your son.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
