Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

My son has received a wreckless driving and racing ticket in NJ. He has just gotton his first license in September. He also has to apear in court. Is there any measures I can take to hopefully keep his license? My son is a nice kid who had a lapse in judgement. As a single mom I count on his income to help keep the household operating. I would greatly appreciate any advice you may choose to give us, Thank-you

Reckless Driving and Racing on a highway both carry 5 motor vehicle points so your son is looking at 10 potential points on his License. the fact that he has only had his License since September doesn't really help. Unfortunately he could be facing a suspension and even the assistance of an attorney does not guarantee that one can be avoided. but the assistance of an experienced municipal Court attorney can certainly help. Please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to answer your questions. I do not charge a fee to merely speak to someone about their tickets. It may be possible to avoid a suspension but a Judge will obviosuly be quite concerned that your son has only had a License for 4 months. Please call me and I will discuss it with you in more detail. These two tickets equal ten motor vehcile points. If you can't afford a private lawyer then he definitely should apply for the public defender. If he has a provisional license then at the very least he is looking at mandatory safe driving school with possible suspension of his license if he gets any other tickets. Please call me to discuss this case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
