Legal Question in Education Law in New Jersey

I am a student at Bergen community college in NJ. I am on the verge of graduating but I am being denied a degree that I have completed because I was never technically registered for it and the catalog year for it was 2012-2013.

The program is still being offered to those who were grandfathered into it by declaring it before on in fall 2012.

What do I do now. I invested so much time time that I will never get back and it has been all for nothing because some counselor coldly said the deadline has passed.

News of registering for this program or the fact that it was going to expire was never said to me. The program catalog is still listed on their webadvisor under the words. What if I changed my program of study? next to a list of the options including the degree that I applied for. It was never indicated anywhere that the last day to register for this program was.... Whenever, because it doesn't say and no body knows when it actually expired.

I also prior to these complications spoke to academic advisors about my options and was told that this was an option.

I received contradicting statements, poor guidance, and I invested 3 years as a part time student working a steady job on the side for a degree I am being denied,(that is still being rewarded to those who have not even finished what I have finished) because of the word closed. This is so cold and I feel extremely cheated of my time and my trust in this so called educational establishment. I am set to complete the program June 28 after this final in progress class is taken care of. I put in my time, Passed all my classes, and IM being denied because its easier to say sorry its closed rather then to officially recognize my accomplishment, my investment, my future.
