Legal Question in Elder Law in New Jersey
My dad died intestate. His medical insurance card wasn't applied to some of his medical expenses for his last illness, and he will probably get refunds. Are those refunds considered probate assets?

Yes, all assets in the name of your father individually will comprise his estate. You will need to open an estate account to deposit the checks in his name. Contact the Surrogate's Court of the county where your father resided and they can help you further. Good luck.
