guardianship of my eldery father
How do I establish guardianship of my elderly father?

Re: guardianship of my eldery father
To obtain guardianship over another adult, a person has to file in Court and ask the Court to appoint that person as guardian over the other. To be successful, it is necessary to prove the person is incapable of making his or her own decisions and does not have the legal capacity to properly care for himself. The person seeking guardianship, if successful, then will take on the legal and other responsibilities for the guardian.
If the prospective guardian objects to the guardianship, the legal proceedings can get quite complicated. Legal representation is recommended.
