Legal Question in Elder Law in New Jersey
Power of attorney
I have power of attorney for my mother. Can I be held for responsiable any of her debts such as credit cards,hospital or doctors bills.

If you mean held responsible for paying her debts, not unless you are the one incurring debt. The power of attorney only gives you authority to handle her matters, the ones clearly delineated in the power of attorney. It doesn't transfer her debt to you personally.
