Undue Influence of my Mother
My sister has exerted undue influence over my elderly mother and has convinced her over my objections to disown me after the death of my father last year. My mother has suffered two heart attacks recently and my sister has instructed family members not to tell me. Today I found out about her condition and I called my mother's doctor. I have been instructed by his office that he will only talk to my sister about my mother's condition.
Is there any way that I can legally get my doctor to tell me about my mother's illness?

Yes, by starting a guardianship action, you would then have subpoena power. I suggest you meet with an attorney to discuss this situation, and to protect your rights when your mom passes away. I am presently handling an eerily similar case where the father died in Decmeber 1998 and the mother in July 0f 1999, and there is only two children, brother and ister, and the mother re-did her will in April 0f 1999.
