Legal Question in Entertainment Law in New Jersey

Producer of CD is going after band because Record Company failed to pay

The record producer made a deal with the record company to made a CD and now the record company will not pay. Now the producer wants to make the band pay for the CD when they never had anything to do with the deal between the producer and the record company - record company is threatening to sue and has sent a ridiculous contract that he wants us to sign giving him royalties and to pay $1000 per month until paid
