Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
12 daughter injuring herself to avoid visitation
My ex husband mediated child custody to be shared custody with each parent spending 50% of the time with the children. After much emotional abuse and stupidity on my ex's part my 12 y/o daughter has started to articulate that she doesn't want to see her father more than every other weekend. My ex refuses to allow any changes . Due to the psycological abuse inflicted on my children since we seperated both of my children have been in couseling. Recently, after spending Spring break with their father, my daughter started cutting herself...in an effort to relieve the pain inflicted by her father. How do I legally protect my daughter to prevent further damage? She is not suicidal but I fear we aren't far off. I'm desperate for help and can not afford an attorney...I can barely afford groceries. Please help me.

You have to ask the Court to change the visitation schedule based on documentation of your family situation.
