Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I have a 19 year daughter that just had a baby yesterday. She is still attending school and lives with her mother in Florida. She recieves wic and other government support from the state of Florida and will eventually recieve support for her newborn child from the childs father. Because of my daughter making this independant decision to have this child, can I have her emancipated, or my child support reduced because she is receiving government aid. My child support decree was and still is in Somerset County NJ

based on what you have said, you may succeed, not certain. I think it is worth filing the motion. Still attending school is an issue, and so is living with her mother. Still, you may succeed.

You will need to find out what the facts actually are. You also should get the help of an experienced family law attorney.

You probably won't get her emancipated but you may be able to get it reduced. Call me anytime at 732/773/2768
