Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Do I have to accept child support, and what consequences might the children or m

I am currently receiving child support through county probabtion. If I choose to return the checks uncashed to either my ex or probation, is this acceptable? In so doing, would it look favorable or not on me and my situation if I petition the courts to allow me to move my children out of state with our current family? I would no longer like to receive my ex's child support, but I would like to get on with my current life. We currently have joint custody, but my children live with me.

Custody and visitation rights of the father would not be affected by whether or not you accept child support. All decisions concerning the children are made by the Court utilizing the "best interest of the child" doctrine. You need to immediately consult with an attorney.
