You will need to make an application for the adoption by filing a Complaint in your county and then the usual process will take place. There are other documents that will need to be filed and a home investigation will be completed. Thereafter, assuming the Court approves, a Judgment will be entered granting your request and a new birth certificate will be entered. Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There certainly may be other factors that would change my opinion.
