Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Adoption / Family Law

I am interested in adopting my cousins child. She has agreed to it. However, I was told my our lawyer that we need to go through an adoption agency. But, the private adoption agency said we need a lawyer. I live in NJ. What is the best way to go about adopting her child? Thank you for your help.

Well you need a lawyer to handle this for you. I suggest you see one that knows what they are doing. Call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss.

You do not need a private agency. The proper way to adopt a relative with consent is to file a petition for adoption with the Court.

By the way you have not mentioned the child's father.

Call me if you like.
