Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Adult child in college still paying support

I have a 20yr old son who is attendind college in N.J. and lives with my ex and her third husband. Three yrs. ago he graduated high school and my ex sent him to Widner, he immediately began expanding his already primed addicitions with alcohol and drugs. He wrecked a car and got a DUI then he changed schools until he did it again. I am still paying $75.00 wk. as I have since he was two. I have not paid any college cost, but after two yrs. he only has 20credits towards a general business degree. There is no possible way he will even get a associates within four yrs. When would be the best time to potition for emancipation. I can not afford to do this but one time because of my current family and the distance and money involved. Thank you.

You understand the situation, it seems. Emancipation is a legal determnination made by the Judge, based on all the factors.
