Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Need advice

Hello...I have a question. My fiance's sister lives in Paraguay (and the whole family as well) and her ex-husband is here in the states. He wants to see his children but she doesnt have the money to send them (2 daughters) here (its one thousand dollars each ticket). They sent me a letter stating that I can talk on her behalf but it is not from a lawyer or signed notary republic. I am not sure what to do. I do not believe that the court will listen to me. What can I do if I am not family? The case is to be held on Friday but if I go there will I be able to speak on her behalf? Please let me know.

Thank you

You seem to be saying that you have an unnotarized power of attorney to appear on their behalf. It all depends on the judge. Take the letter to court to you and explain honestly why you are there and who you are. Give it a go matey!

On the other hand the better procedure is to hire an attorney to appear on behalf of your fiancee's sister or to, at least obtain a notarized power of attorney. 800 273 7933.
