alimony, child support
my son wants to seek a divorce, has two children, is on unemployment and should consider disability as his back is destroyed. The wife has no skills, is 31 years old, was illegal when my son married her but now has her papers. Wife has not contributed in any way to the marriage as my son cooks, cleans, worked two jobs when he was working. Where does he stand on paying alimony as his wife thinks she will never have to work and just collect alimony. isn't she young enough and wont the courts order her to get trained. My son is a good father, will take care of his children and is trying to seek work.

The amount of alimony that he may or may not have to pay will be partially determined by the length of the marriage and the history of the earnings of the two spouses during the marriage. Also, with the wife recently getting papers in the United States, it will depend on her immigration status and whether she is allowed to work.
Assuming it is a short marriage, your son may be exposed to a short period of alimony to get back on his feet. It will depend on her age and skill set for her ability to work.
For child support, it would depend on the custodial situation and who gets the kids in the end. With your son on unemployment and possibly disabled, the child support amount if he did not have the children would be negligible.
