Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

alimony

I was divorced in new jersey in 1980. my agrement was modified in dec 1987. the dollar amount that was in the agreement was only paid for a few years and the parties agreed, not in writing, to amount that was paid until 2000/ when our son graduated college. since that time until now no monetary claim was made. My wife whom I married in 1982,died on oct 18 2004. My ex wife sued me for back alimony due to my receiving money from the sale of the marital home. I would like to know what my rights are under new jersy law. she has sued for every penny i have.

This is not a yes or no question. What did your divorce agreement say? what did the divorce judgment say? what are the reasons she gives for trying to dig more money out of you now? I would need to sit down with you and go through all of this and much more.
