Alimony
I've been receiving $500/month alimony for the past 9 years. I recently started a new career and my yearly income has gone from $32,000 to $23,920. My ex-husband of 22 years earns in excess of $100K yearly. Can I petition for an increase in alimony in the state of New Jersey?

Generally yes. It depends why your income dropped so much. I would get an attorney to help you with this as this is not as easy as getting child support increased. You could run into some big problems if he fights this.

Your ability to get an increase (or your ex-husband's ability to get a decrease) depends on "substantial change of circumstance". If a Court agrees that there has been such a change, the amount of the alimony may be increased (or decreased) depending on all of the circumstances.
