Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

right to assistant in pro se case

Do I have a right to have a friend sit with me in court to take notes and give me advice, if necessary, if I represent myself in motions to reduce alimony, and enforce parts of original divorce agreement? If so, does the defendant need to agree to this person being present? How do I get permission for this?

They can't sit at the table with you, but it is a public court room. Anyone can be there.
