Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

does an attorney have the right to withhold monies thats owed to me due to an auto accident that he has put in his trust fund,because he did a child support search which showed i had three arrears only judgements which one of them was vacated and the others remain, which im paying towards on a weekly basis. Is this attorney within legal terms to hold monies thats due to me.
