Going off memory as I don't have any books in front of me, I'd say no. Grand parents yes, Aunts and Uncles no. Of course, I'm free to be corrected by another attorney.

However, if you were more than just an Aunt and you were a key figure in the child's life I could make the argument that it would be in the childs best interest to have some contact with the child but I think you would have to be a de-facto parent in order to get a court to order actual visitation where you are alone at your house with the child. What you are really asking is whether

an extended family has the right to visit with it's children. It is a nice thought, but it seems unlikely that a judge would grant visitation rights to an entire family and notjust the grandparents.

If you try you might make new law.

In New Jersey aunts do not have a legal or automatic right to visitation. It is hard enough for grandparents after recent cases.
