Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I need back child support

My husband is 4000 in arrears with child support. He stopped paying in the last week in May. He has not made a regular payment since. Finally after numorus calls to the probation dept they scheduled a enforcement hearing in Sept. he did not show up. They issued a warrant, that got his attention, suddenly a $500.00 deposit. Then nothing, again I called and called propbation they contacted him again with the threat of reissuing a warrant he paid 50.00 twice. He is claiming the economy and no job. The facts are he willingly left the state in 2006 (a good job) and moved to another state. My children lost health insurance. He came back and worked a while and got a reductuion in child support because he made less. He then picks up and moves out of state again this time he stops paying. Until the hearing in Sept. I am behind on all bills and the document I got from the enforcemnt hearing says full arrears must be paid. Probation says 500 was a substancial amount and the guy is umemployed and at least trying to keep in touch. Nonsence he only keeps in touch because of the warrants, I am behind on my mortgage and bills becuase of this, how can I get the full arrears so I can get current, why should I suffer losing my home?

Re: I need back child support

You should really speak to an attorney. Going to court without one is obviously not working out for you as it doesn't for many people. I've been down this road before with other clients. Unfortunately, this happens way too often.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
