Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Back to court again...

Hello. My childs father and I have just gone thru 2

mediation sessions and we came up with an

agreement 2 weeks ago. We both signed it and left

it in the hands of the mediator. Today he tells me

he doesnt agree with anything that we agreed to

and he is filing to take me back to court. Can he do

this? Im tired of wasting my time at mediation and

court, he brings me to court constantly for the

same things and nothing ever changes! Is our

agreement official once we signed it, even though

Im not sure if it has reached the judge yet? What

can I do here when I go back to court?? what can

I tell the judge?? Thank you!

Re: Back to court again...

It all depends on the language of the agreement. The agreement could have written in a way that it is truly final, but I expect that it is not final until you and he appear in court and swear, under oath, that you accept same, unconditionally and

totally.

Call me if you like.
