Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
My boyfriend and I have two small children.
He also has an older child for whom he pays child support in the amount of 187 weekly.
His current salary of 90k
the custodial mother makes around 40k
Our two children were not born when this amount was arrrived at.
this amount was also put into place before his current job at this salary.
we also have a mortgage of 1700 a month and i am not working.
My question is, if he were to attempt to go back tot he courts to seek a reduction, would it likely be granted based on our two children and his living expenses, or would he end up facing higher payments as a result?
Is there a standard formula that is used so we could have a way to know without gambling on it?

It perhaps would be best if he sought a down-ward modification as a married man with two additional children.
If a man gets married and has more children and his income stays the same, then he should be able to get the Court to reduce the child support payment. I can not give you any dollar estimate until I get more information from you.
Give me a call, make an appointment to come see me, and let's get moving on this for you.

Please keep in mind that my response is just a general comment on your question, and not legal advice. Your question and any response does NOT create an attorney-client relationship between you and this law firm. The exact details of your situation and things that you have not mentioned in your question can completely change the answer to your question. You can not rely upon what I have written, because I do not have all of the information that I need to advise you, I only have the very small amount of information that you put into your question. For me to give you any legal advice, I would need for you to hire me to be your lawyer, and then we would need to discuss this in detail and go over the documents.
